Amoebas are protozoans—tiny, single-celled organisms that live in water and behave in many ways like animals. Amoebas feed on diatoms—a group of single-celled organisms that use photosynthesis to make their energy—as well as on other very small forms of life. Having no mouth parts, amoebas ingest other organisms by surrounding and engulfing them.
As for what eats an amoeba: they are preyed upon and eaten by small fish and crustaceans such as tiny shrimp.
