What Eats Meat?
What eats meat?
Animals that eat almost no food aside from meat are called carnivorous animals, or carnivores. Wolves, dogs and cats, including big cats such as cougars and jaguars, are carnivores.
Carnivores that do not hunt and kill their own prey, but instead eat animals that have been killed by other creatures, are called scavengers. Vultures and jackals are two examples of scavengers.
Animals that sometimes eat meat, but also eat a lot of plant food, are called omnivores.
The bear is an example of an omnivorous animal.
